Spiritual Practice

During my own spiritual search for answers, I have come across many religions and beliefs. Several of these stuck out in my mind, as ones that seemed to advocate a teaching that included looking within ourselves to find the answers and meaning of our life.

I am including these for your information, because at some point in my own seeking, they have helped me along. Follow the links to the right or click on the title of each below. They include the following:

Raja Yoga - A most beneficial training in the control of the mind. This is a long term training, and not something that can be achieved "overnight".

The Bhagavad Gita - This is less a religion or training and more a commentary on life. It is an ancient Indian text with wonderful allegory. A true masterpiece!

Buddhism - Born in India, this religion is universally acclaimed as the peace making religion. It can be seen to be a little complex in places, however it's message, if taken with all sincerity can lead to true understanding.

Hinduism - A religion of many Gods, this has nonetheless helped many achieve an understanding of themselves. Its' texts include the Bhagavad Gita (mentioned above) and Vedanta, a compilation of spiritual writings from many centuries past.

Sufism - The religion of the whirling dervish, this is the more esoteric (and much more peace-loving) off shoot of Islam
